Errors Prove Costly for Knights

Box Score Jackson, TN – The Knights were back in action on Saturday, May 3rd as they were set to take on the Crusaders of William Carey University. The Knights needed a win to stay in contention for a spot in the SSAC title game.
 
The Crusaders scored one run in the first inning but the Knights answered back in the second inning with four runs on a Teonis Pimentel RBI double, a wild pitch, and a two-run double by Jose Vargas to give them a 4-1 lead. The Crusaders proved why they were the 1-seed as they scored seven runs in the second inning, three runs in the third inning, and one run in the fourth inning to put the Knights down 12-4. The Knights scored one run in the fifth inning on an RBI groundout by Michael Flaherty to close the gap to 12-5. The Crusaders scored four runs in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth inning to put the mercy rule into effect. The Knights attempted to extend the game as they scored a run in the seventh inning on a Casual Kay RBI single but they were unable to close the gap and the Knights lost 17-6.
 
The Knights season ends with a 30-23 record.
