Box Score COCHRAN, GA - On the same day the 1st NAIA Top 25 Polls came out and moved the Knights up 9 spots to #8, the Knights faced NCAA DII member Georgia Southwestern and defeated the Canes 16-1. The Knights extended their winning streak to 7 and improve to 15-3 on the season.
Trent Nash and Robbie Hanlon led the Knights with 3 hits each and each had a pair of RBI. Blake Jackson added to his SSAC leading homerun total with a 2-run homer in the 3rd and gathered 3 RBI and 2 runs, both categories he leads the SSAC in as well. Jacob Durant had a multi-hit game with a pair of singles and swiped his 10th base of the season which leads the SSAC. Guner Sellers had a hit with 2 runs and 2 RBI and Bucky McGlamrey had a hit with a run and 2 RBI for the Knights. Nine different Knights had a hit in the game for 15 total hits and 16 runs scored.
Kyle Anderson got the start of the Knights and went 4.0 innings allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks with 4 strike outs. Devan Harriman got the win for the Knights with one perfect inning and 2 Ks. Colby Mullins allowed a hit, 3 walks, and the only earned run in 1 inning of work. Stetson Walker struckout one and walked 2 in 1 inning and Cam Bailey struck out 2 in an inning of work. Chris Cutthrell closed out the game with 1 inning of work and 1 hit allowed. The Knights gave up 4 hits in all and a single run.
The Knights travel to Tuscaloosa, AL this weekend for a 3-game series at Stillman College (5-5, 1-2 SSAC) for the second weekend of SSAC play. The teams will play a pair of games on Friday starting at 2PM and then a sinlge game on Saturday.
